Mercenaries 2 gameplay, things go boom
By Antonio Hernandez
Embedded Media

So you have a hangover? No no no, put down that Advil, it will do nothing for you. The only way to truly rid yourself of that July 4 headache, is to watch tons of **** blow up. What more do we gamers love then to watch things explode? I mean, didn't you hear that things exploding is next-gen!

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction seems to capitalize on this theory, as shown in this developer walk through. Boy do I love me a developer walk through, not because they are informative, but because they can take the most boring aspect of the game....and make it sound interesting. Well...they can try...

As such with this walk through, which in its few minutes, shows a some new additions to the franchise. Not to mention, it gives me enough fuel to extend this post into a list of things that look good and horrible.

The good.
-Things are still exploding.
-There is actual vibrant color
-The addition of customizable vehicles.

The "could be" bad
-Disguise system seems not needed in a game that encourages the destruction of everything
-The word covert.
-The grappling hook, snatched from its clone game "Just Cause"
-Some animations/quick time events...are...well...he drops a grenade into the tank, come on.

This is all just based on a quick look of course, I am still extremely excited about this game.

Pachter slaps E3
I think E3 should be allowed to die, and not dragged out every year like the geriatric octogenarian patriarch at family Christmases. We have other shows, and the sterilisation of E3 has rendered it embarrassing and practically useless. It was never meant to be a corporate conference, but a celebration of all things game. It is no longer the party it used to be and the booth babes have moved on to younger, fitter models. Consign it to the history books and let us remember it as it used to be. -- mandrill

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom trailer
WHAT?! WHAT is with Capcom and this DBZ Budokai/tenkaichi/burst limit style thing now? Omfg... after this and SF4, Guilty gear and SNK are going to be, like, the last /true/ 2d fighters. which hurts my soul. -- TSC

It's offical, the end has come
Just when I get used to saying "Actiblizzion" now I have to insert Vivendi in there? I guess its going to be: "Activivendibizzion" -- Dylan
